I work with .NET in some applications.

I finished an application that connected with 'sqlconnection' and 'sqlceremotedataaccess' to my SQL Server. It run good in my Pocket 2005 WM5.0 (with WindowsCE 5.0).

But... my Pocket 2003 WM3.0 SE (with WindowCE 4.21) didn' t connect to my PC. I can't do ping to him... there are not connectivity between Pocket and PC (with Windows XP SP2)

I use HP USB Sync (with ActiveSync 4.5).
Pocket 2005 connect with IP's 169.254.2.2 (PC) and 169.254.2.1 (Pocket), IP's that ActiveSync provides to devices whit WM5.0.

In my Pocket 2003 are assigned this IP's:
Current IP

Pocket_PC
192.168.55.101

Adapters

USB Cable: -

IP Address : 192.168.55.101
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.255
Default Gateway : 192.168.55.100
Primary DNS : 127.0.0.1
...

With ping to 192.168.55.100 i don't receive any answer (Request time out*). Do you know how could i have connection between my Pocket and PC?
I need to configure a network to connect with Pocket in my PC?

PD: I'm a Spanish user... Sorry if my English is not good

Hi,
Did you configure the software firewall on the PC to allow the connection? Try using vxutil from www.cam.com to confirm that the mobile device can see the PC.

Also, did you confirm that the dev tools were configured to support 2003 when the program was created? Also, did you install any additional software on your device? If I recall right SQL Server CE is not on 2003.

Libs sqlconnection and sqlceremoteaccess are included in installable Visual Basic packets for pocket2005, also for pocket2003 and others... Then, it should run well.
SQL Server CE also run well in Pocket 2003 Wink
When my apllication try to connect SQL Server, error message appears: Specified SQL Server not found.
There are very much information about this, but nothing help me.
Then, I thought about if mobile device could see the PC, and with vxUtil I confirmed it.

------------------------

I have another question about my problem:

Exists an aplicattion named My Mobiler that allow user to work with your PDA in your PC desktop (I hope you know it)
If I read Information about his connection i see this:
IP Connection
IP Adress
Mobile IP : 192.168.55.101
Desktop IP : 192.168.55.100

[Connected.]

How is possible that PC connect with my mobile device and i work with this since my desktop PC... but I can't send a ping to 192.168.55.100...

Sorry, I think I said wrong this phrase ...
I confirmed that mobile device couldn't see the PC.

Because of my Pocket can't see the PC, I can't confirm if my Pocket can connect to the PC using SQL.

my main doubt is how can i see PC with my mobile device 2003. Now, Is not important to know if pocket can connect using SQL. I think if I find how Pocket see PC, it will connect without problems with SQL Server.
